DEATH VALLEY NATIONAL PARK

OCTOBER 27 - NOVEMBER 1, 2024

There is no place on earth quite like Death Valley. Always wonderfully surreal, it is a landscape alive with light, color, shape, and texture. We’ll spend the week exploring and photographing the raw beauty of this unique national park as Doug shares his favorite Death Valley locations.

We’ll visit the incredible mosaic-patterned salt flats of Badwater at 280 feet below sea level, and the sensuous beauty of the dunes at Mesquite Flats. High in the mountain ranges from Aguereberry Point and Dantes View at sunset, we’ll capture the grandeur of Death Valley below us – from both sides. We will also travel to the eastern Sierra Mountains to capture stunning sunrise light in Alabama Hills with Lone Pine Peak and Mt. Whitney towering above at 14,505 ft. elevation.

The area is also rich in human history and we’ll visit the ghost town of Rhyolite, a former mining town that was settled during the gold rush. Death Valley is a designated International Dark Sky Park and provides the perfect backdrop to photograph stars and sky over the ghost town.

Join DJP for an amazing Death Valley adventure that will build your skills and your collection of stunning photographs!
