DJP: Havana, Cuba Workshop 2023 Cancellation Policy

There are many uncertainties in today’s travel environment, so we strongly encourage participants to purchase refundable airline tickets and purchase trip cancellation or travel insurance. Doug Johnson Photography is not responsible for any losses incurred as a result of a workshop cancellation. Many travel insurance companies have updated their policies regarding COVID-19; make sure you learn about a particular policy’s COVID coverage to see if you may want to purchase a Cancel For Any Reason (CFAR) policy.

Workshop content may change from that advertised based on weather, access to shooting locations, and other unforeseen situations. A change of instructor is also possible, though it rarely happens. Whenever possible, registered students will be notified ahead of time of any changes. 

DJP Cancellation:

  • Doug Johnson Photography (DJP) reserves the right to cancel the workshop if a minimum number of participants have not registered by May 31, 2023 and a deposit refund of 50% will be provided.

  • Any cancellation resulting from a Force Majeure (terrorist activity, insurrection, war or threat of war (declared or undeclared), sabotage, civil disturbance, labor strike, quarantine, government intervention, explosion, fire, extreme weather or acts of God, etc.), no refund will be provided by Doug Johnson Photography

  • Doug Johnson Photography is not responsible for any losses incurred as a result of a course cancellation (please see note above regarding recommendation of travel insurance).

Participant Cancellation for the Havana, Cuba Workshop: Due to the many logistics involved in planning and implementing photography workshops, we encourage participants to make sure they can attend a workshop before registering. That said, we understand that life happens and unexpected situations arise (please see note above regarding recommendation of travel insurance). Doug Johnson Photography is not responsible for cancellations due to medical or other emergencies or reimbursement of any losses including non-refundable airline tickets, lodging, or otherwise, in the event of a participant cancelling their workshop registration.   

  • Tuition is not transferrable.

  • For cancellations received in writing before June 1, 2023 - Doug Johnson Photography will refund 50% of the deposit

  • For cancellations received in writing between June 1 and September 1, 2023 - Doug Johnson Photography will retain the full deposit. If we are able to fill your seat, or you are able to find someone to take your place, you will receive a refund 50% of your deposit.

  • For cancellations received in writing after September 1, 2023 - Doug Johnson Photography will retain the full tuition.  If we are able to fill your seat, or you are able to find someone to take your place, you will receive a refund of 50% of tuition paid.

  • For cancellations after the workshop is in progress and for no-shows at the workshop: Doug Johnson Photography will retain full tuition.

  • Should final payment fail to reach us by the payment due date specified on the workshop page, we reserve the right to treat the booking as cancelled and retain the deposit
